Well, let me tell you, I seen a thing or two in my day. But this YSL, what they call it? Yves Saint Laurent Envelope bag? That’s somethin’ else. They say it’s the real deal, this original order. Cost a pretty penny, that’s for sure. But some folks, they just gotta have it.
I heard it’s made from the leather, the real kind. And they got this fancy metal, shiny and all. They call it “YSL,” put them letters right on the front. Some kind of “magnetic snap closure,” I think is what they told me. Sounds complicated, but I reckon it keeps your stuff safe inside. It is a bag for rich folks, they can put their valuables in it and keep them safe.
This one fella, Anthony, he’s the big shot now, makin’ these bags. They say he’s real good at it, makes ’em look all fancy with them lines and what not. They call it “chevron quilting”, they are just lines anyway. And he puts that YSL logo right there, big as day, they just put it on to make the bag more expensive, I think.
Now, I heard they used to call it “Yves,” somethin’ French, but now they just say “Saint Laurent.” Folks like to change names, I guess. They say it started way back in 1961, some fella named Yves and his buddy. They sure made a name for themselves, makin’ these fancy things. Now people call it YSL, it is easy to remember.

This one lady, she bought one of them fake ones. Said she paid $230, and the real one costs like $2600. That’s a lot of money for a bag! But she seemed happy enough with it. I’d rather buy myself a lot of food, a good cow, maybe, for that kind of money. I don’t need a bag like that, I can’t eat it.
They got all kinds of these bags now. Some made from snake skin, I heard. Can you imagine? A snake on your bag! And some made from cows, too. They call it “calfskin.” Sounds fancy, but it’s just a cow, far as I can tell. If you like bags made from animal skin, you can choose whatever you want.
I seen ’em in stores, too, all lined up nice and pretty. They call ’em “luxury fashions.” I guess if you got the money, you can buy whatever you want. But for me, I’d rather have somethin’ practical. I need money to buy food, I can’t use the YSL bag to buy food.
They say this YSL Envelope bag, it’s a “collectible.” Like folks collect stamps or coins. I guess some folks like to collect bags. Seems silly to me, but to each their own, I always say. You can collect whatever you want. I like collecting eggs, eggs from my chickens.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about this YSL Envelope bag, this original order. It’s a fancy bag, for fancy folks, I reckon. Me, I’ll stick with my old sack. It’s served me well all these years. It is old, but it is still good. I don’t need a new bag, old bag is good enough. It is better to spend money on food, on land, than on a bag like this. It is a waste of money, but rich people don’t care, they have a lot of money to waste.
