Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get a new bag lately, and I’ve had my eye on this Prada Galleria Saffiano bag for a while. The classic style, you know? I finally decided to do a remake of it. It’s such a timeless piece, and I figured, why not try to make one myself?
I started by doing some research. I looked up everything about the Prada Galleria Saffiano bag. You see pictures of celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid rocking similar bags all the time, so I knew it had to be good. And the design is so simple. I learned that the bag was first launched in 2007, and it’s still super popular. It’s made of Saffiano leather, which I found out is a special type of treated, embossed leather. It’s not like full-grain leather that gets all soft and develops that cool patina over time. This stuff is tough and keeps its shape.
The first thing I did was gather my materials. I managed to find some really good quality Saffiano leather, it took some searching, but it was worth it. The thickness of the leather is important, you want it to be just right. Then I got some sturdy lining material, and all the hardware, like the buckles and the zipper and stuff. Getting the right hardware was key to making it look authentic.
- Saffiano Leather
- Lining Material
- Hardware (buckles, zipper, etc.)
- Thread
- Leather glue
Next, I started cutting out the leather. This was probably the most nerve-wracking part. I carefully measured and marked each piece, making sure everything was precise. I used a really sharp cutter to get clean edges. Then I carefully started assembling the pieces. I glued and sewed everything together, taking my time to make sure the seams were strong and neat. I felt like I spent hours on the sewing, and my fingers were definitely sore afterward!
Adding the Details
After the main body of the bag was done, I started working on the details. I attached the handles, which was tricky because they had to be perfectly aligned. Then I added the interior pockets and the lining. I even managed to add a little zipper pocket inside, just like the real Prada bag.
Finally, I added the finishing touches. I carefully attached all the hardware, making sure everything was secure. I also added a small leather tag, which I think is a nice touch. And of course, I made sure the bag had that signature Prada logo. I found a metal logo piece that looked just like the real one, and I carefully attached it to the front of the bag.
It was a lot of work, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, of course, but it’s pretty darn close to the real thing. And the best part is, I made it myself! It was a fun project, and I learned a lot about bag making in the process. I’m already thinking about what bag I want to remake next!

Anyway, that’s my Prada Galleria Saffiano bag remake story. Hope you enjoyed it!
