Alright, so, I’ve been obsessed with this whole Prada Galleria Saffiano bag thing, the mini one, not the huge one. I finally decided to do a remake of it. I’m not a pro or anything, just really into this stuff, you know?
First, I got this Saffiano leather. It wasn’t easy to find the right texture, feels just like the real deal. Not that cheap stuff, you can tell, right? Then I started cutting the leather. Man, my hands were shaking, I was so scared to mess it up. I used this pattern I found, a pretty good one. I followed it to a T.
Sewing it together was a whole other story. My little sewing machine was struggling with the leather’s thickness. It made this weird noise the whole time, and I was sure it would just die on me! But, I kept going, stitch by stitch. I was sweating bullets, seriously. I was worried I’d have to start over, oh my god.
- I even tried to get that little Prada logo thing right.
- Cut out this tiny piece of metal.
- Glued it on.
- It looks kinda wonky, but hey, it’s there!
It took me days, I’m not even kidding, days. My back was killing me from bending over the table, and my fingers were all sore. It was way more work than I thought it would be. I almost gave up like a million times. But I pushed through, you know? Gotta finish what you start, that’s what I say.
The Result
Okay, so, it’s not perfect, not at all. It’s kinda rough around the edges, and the stitching isn’t super straight in some places. But, you know what? I made it. Me. With my own two hands. It looks pretty darn close to the real Prada Galleria Mini, especially from far away. I’m actually pretty proud of it, to be honest. It was a journey, let me tell you. But I learned a lot, and I think I’ll try another one soon, maybe a different color, who knows? It was fun, in a crazy, stressful way!
I’m not gonna lie. Seeing my little “Prada” sitting there, it makes me smile every time. It is not the real one, it did not cost me thousands, but it is my own accomplishment!
